Sculpting Eyebrow Microblading with Tiffiny Luong!!

For last few week so many of you asking me what
is Sculpting Eyebrow Microblading

Sculpting Eyebrow Microblading is a manual, semi-permanent method. Also referred to as embroidery, 3D brows, microstroking or brow resurrection it yields natural, crisp strokes that resemble hair. It is done by hand, using a very fine blade to deposit a small amount of ink into the skin.  Manually done, microblading looks like hair. It is considered semi-permanent and lasts 1-3 years. Less invasive than the permanent method, it rivals the look of real eyebrows.

All the pigment is impacted into the epidermal layer of the skin – the one that naturally renews itself on a regular basis. Because we’re introducing pigment so close to the surface of the skin, we’re able to emulate the look of real hair. Unfortunately, for the same reason, these are considered to be semi-permanent. Don’t let the terminology deter you  – that doesn’t mean they’ll only last a little while. They will last for as long as they’re being maintained.
Regular touch ups are recommended to keep the strokes crisp and fresh. Healthy skin, without any underlying pathological factors usually requires a top up every six to eight months. This, of course varies greatly from individual to individual.

Shaping is the first and in my opinion, most important step. I strive to include my clients into the decision making process to help alleviate some of the anxiety. As for pain, a topical anesthetic is administered for all treatments, but there is some discomfort associated with the procedure. It has been likened to threading and tends to be more irritating than painful.

Microblading is a two-step process, consisting of initial procedure and a touch up to be completed 4-8 weeks after. This method is a lot kinder to the skin than the old method done with a machine. Redness and swelling dissipate within an hour after the treatment and no permanent scarring takes place.
During the healing process, your brows will go through a very interesting ride – at first, they appear dark and well defined. After about a week to ten days, the color will fade slightly and the definition will soften. There’s no down time, so there’s no need to take a day off work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual method used to deposit small amounts of ink in the superficial layer of the skin. It is considered to be a semi-permanent tattoo.

How long does it last?
Your tattoo will last as long as it’s maintained. Untouched, the ink will last 1-3 years.

How often do I need a touch up?
Touch ups are recommended every six months to a year, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp.

Does it hurt?
There is some discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area. People say the sensation is similar to getting threaded.

What should I do to prepare for my procedure?
There’s no prep required. Leaving your eyebrows alone for a week (no tweezing, waxing or otherwise removing the hair) is preferred.

What should I do after the procedure?
Other than make sure your skin is dry and clean – not much. An aftercare kit will be given to you after the treatment is complete.

How long does it take?
The procedure takes roughly about two hours, sometimes more sometimes less. Please allow a solid two and a half hour window for your appointment. We likely won’t need that much time, but this isn’t something we want to rush.

Do I need to take a day off work?
No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an hour after. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.

How long does it take to heal?
Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a week to ten days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. A good month should pass before we consider the process complete.

What’s the process like?
Microblading is a two step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch up four to eight weeks after. After we take your before photo, we shape your eyebrows and decide on the color. Shortly after that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you’re numb, the pigment is deposited.
During healing, it’s normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why we have the touch up in place. The process is considered to be complete 4 weeks after the first touch up.

What can’t I do after the procedure?
You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry – that means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking or peeling the tattoo. You can still wash your hair and face and once they’re healed up, you treat them as your own.

What kind of pigments are used?
I use Softap pigments, manufactured in USA. All the colors are iron-oxide based and have been FDA approved. A wide range of colors is available.

What if I don’t like it?
There are several things we can do. Your eyebrows can be modified to a point. A good technician will work with you until you are satisfied with your results.

Can you guarantee your work?
No. I can guarantee that your face is important to me and that I will act in accordance with my experience and expertise to give you my absolute best. I can guarantee that I will strive to make you gratified and content every time. But there are no guarantees in this industry. Please think long and hard before you decide to go for it. This is a very big deal and should be treated as such.

To ensure best results, make sure your health is in good condition. Get enough rest, eat well, exercise.

72 hours before and after your microblading/microstroking appointment: avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen.

One week before : stop taking the following supplements (Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort) as they contribute to thinning the blood and may affect anesthetic efficacy. You may resume taking your vitamins 72 hours after.

On the day of your appointment: avoid caffeine and exercise. Wash your hair in the morning as you will need to avoid the shower for several days. Baths are recommended.

Pigments during microstroking are not implanted as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo, or even micropigmentation with an electric permanent makeup device. This allows for healed results of very fine, thin, and crisp hair lines, however, results do not last as long as traditional methods. A color boost is required usually between 18-24 months. A touch-up may be required at 12 months or sooner for oily-skinned clients, those who tan often, or or often expose brow area to certain chemicals (facial peels, chlorine, anti-aging products, etc.). Pigment retention varies depending on skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals, and the type of pigment used.

We use only the best quality pigments that heal true to color. All materials used during each and every appointment (including pre-sterilized blades) are 100% disposable. We strictly adhere to both Texas Public Health and OSHA guidelines for proper infection control practices.

You are NOT a suitable candidate for this procedure if you are:

  • Pregnant or nursing
  • History of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring
  • Diabetic (require doctor’s clearance)
  • Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
  • Viral infections and/or diseases

  • Botox in the past 2 months

* Any treatment, medication, or illness that compromises the immune system / healing would make you NOT a good candidate for micropigmentation procedures
